Our todays’ prayer point will be, “Lord cause me to enter Your rest.” It comes from the book of Psalms 95:11 which says, “So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest.’ according to The Gideon s International Version.
As we pray, we need to be focused. We should be specific on what we pray for. Always ask the Holy Spirit to help you on what you should pray for as He had said, ‘I will send you a helper.’ We do also need to put God in remembrance. I don’t mean that God forgets, no. He is ever mindful of His covenant but what I mean here is that we should pray according to his word. That is, we ask Him according to His Word.
Based on our prayer scripture for today, we see when the children of Israel were moving to the promised land, God ensured there was enough supply to meet their needs. But these people were much stubborn, when there was no water instead of be-leaving their Father in Heaven that they do have a Mighty God, who had been their provider, they started murmuring and even questioning whether God could provide for them forgetting the good things He had earlier given unto them. God saw it and was grieved with that generation, the reason he said they won’t enter His rest. rest there meant ‘promised Land’; Canaan. the reason we saw a large number of them perishing while still in the wilderness.
But for us as Christians in regards to this scripture, rest is applied to be as our next level of life; His Glorious Kingdom, a life without sickness, oppression, poverty etc; a Godly kind of life.
